kroger brandSusan emailed with some more information about the Kroger Prescription promotion that I posted about the other day. I thought I would include what she had to say here in case any of you will be trying this deal!

I filled more than one prescription and they gave me $25 for each prescription.
The $25 gets added to your Kroger Plus Card.
When I did my next shopping trip I used the self check out and scanned in my items. I pressed done. It usually gives you the option to use coupons next.
Instead of giving me the option to use coupons it asked if I wanted to use my discount.
I said yes and then it deducted the total balance on my order, tax and everything, and the transaction was complete. It did take off my ecoupons .
I was able to go to Customer Service and they gave me the difference from my coupons.
I still had a balance left so the next time I made a purchase I rang up my items and scanned my coupons before I used my Kroger Plus card. After I finished using my coupons I scanned the Kroger Plus card and then it took off the balance on my card for the order.

Harmony, Melody, Loretta, Amy, Julie and Susan have an entry in this week’s Email & Win contest. If you find a deal at Kroger make sure you email me for your entry!

I’m sorry but the closeout on the Pillsbury Special Edition Hershey Chocolate Icing Cinnamon Rolls is hilarious. It’s 10% off the shelf price!

  2. Amanda says:

My understanding is that the $25.00 reward comes off first giving no option for coupons unless you have some sort of balance left to pay. I would check with the store first.

  3. Greta says:

If you scan your coupons before scanning your Kroger plus card, nothing will double, just an FYI. I learned that the hard way. And Amanda is correct, but that is what she said in her email above. She had to go to customer service to get the money for her coupons.

  4. Prue100 says:

This is a great tip. BTW my Kroger doesn’t allow for self scanning of coupons. I have to give them to the attendant anyways so I would say NO TO REWARD, select Coupons, give the coupons to the attendant and then tell them I want to redeem my reward. Just a thought! Thanks for the tip!

  5. Amy says:

If you opt to not use the RX rewards when it asks, there is no way to go back and use it! The only way around it is for them to suspend the transaction and take it to another register. As far as using the coupons prior to the RX rewards, I have done that on a couple of occassions for that reason. I have made sure that I did not have coupons that would double to avoid THAT issue. When I do my big trip this weekend, I will use the remaining of my rewards and will most likely owe a balance so I am not worried about it but I went last night b/c I wanted to get my Red Baron catalina!
