Sorry I got the one in the picture free a while back and they were so gross. The flavor was like chewing on leaves yuck!

  2. Tillie's Mom says:

No one in my family liked the coconut water – even my son who likes odd things. He took it to school and dared his friends to drink it. Thumbs down at our house.

I also got some Vita Coca Singles free (after coupon) a few months ago – 2 plain and 2 w/ pineapple juice. I have to agree with the previous reports – the plain ones tasted like someone’s idea of coconut water was to take water and stir some (whole) coconuts around in it. I guess I was expecting something closer to coconut milk, or that at least tasted more like traditional “coconut” flavor. They were so bad I haven’t even been able to force myself to try the pineapple juice ones yet.

  4. I have had these and actually don’t mind them :-) However, the flavored ones are MUCH better than the plain ones, so Glenn, you might be OK with the pineapple ones. One benefit is the amount of natural electrolytes without the additives of sports drinks, so I will use it when training and racing. I’ll have to head up to my store to see whether these are on closeout here!

I have used it to put in healthy green drinks I make. Actually don’t mind it at all.

  6. Anna says:

Coconut water does not taste at all like coconut milk. In the actual coconut, the “milk” comes from the grinding the fleshy part and straining it (like almond milk), and is much sweeter. The water part is always tangier and sometimes fermented for alcoholic drinks.

I grew up drinking it straight from the coconut so I love it. It does taste better very cold. And if you like drinks sweet, add more sugar because it’s not meant to be sweet. And it does take getting used to (like grapefruit juice).

I went to check out the Vita Coco singles deal at my store today. The plain and Pineapple ones were 94 cents and the mango ones rang up as 47 cents!
