UPDATE: Nancy emailed me and I wanted you guys to see what happened when she did a similar transaction. The deal above should work since the total after eCoupons is over $15…fingers crossed!

Here’s a transaction that I did at Kroger last week that didn’t work like I had hoped.  I had loaded the $0.55/1 Ore-Ida EQ and also the $5/$20 Ore-Ida SavingStar.  On my first transaction, I got 5 Ore-Ida @ $2.88 each = $14.40 + 1 Birds Eye Steamfresh @ $2 = $16.40.  I thought since this was over the $15 Go Meatless requirement, that I would get a $5 OYNO cat, but I only got a $2 OYNO cat.  Because the $0.55/1 EQ was deducted on each of the 5 Ore-Ida’s, it brought down the total to $13.xx.  GR-R-R.  If I had used my paper $1/2 q’s, I would have gotten the $5 cat.  Or if I had added another $2 Birds Eye Steamfresh, I would have gotten a $5 cat.  It seems Kroger is punishing me for using the EQ rather than a paper q.  I called the Catalina Support folks and they can’t help since the total was less than $15, per Kroger’s instructions.  Another strike for me again EQ’s.  I did another transaction with more Ore-Ida this week and DID NOT load the $0.55/1 EQ, added some Birds Eye, and got the $5 OYNO cat.  Hope it will count for the SavingStar credit.
